CU Phosco, the UK’s largest designer and manufacturer of exterior lighting equipment, is proud to support this year’s Scott Trial, one of the most prestigious and historic motorcycle trials in the UK, taking place on October 12th.
As a local company with deep roots in North Yorkshire, CU Phosco has donated two temporary lighting towers to help illuminate key areas of the trial, ensuring the event runs smoothly and safely for both riders and spectators.
The Scott Trial, which dates back to 1914, is renowned for its gruelling off-road course through the rugged landscapes of Swaledale, challenging both man and machine. This year, riders will tackle an 84-mile course divided into 75 sections, testing their skills and endurance. CU Phosco’s contribution of temporary lighting will support the event’s operations, allowing key sections of the course to be well-lit, enhancing safety and the overall experience for everyone involved.
“As a company with a services division based right here in Richmond, North Yorkshire, we are proud to give back to our local community by supporting the Scott Trial,” said Bob Gaskell, Contracts Director of CU Phosco. “The event has a rich history in the region, and we’re honoured to play a role in ensuring it remains a success for years to come.”
The Scott Trial has always been more than just a test of skill for riders. Each year, it raises funds for local charities, known collectively as the ‘Scott Charities,’ which focus on supporting non-profit organisations that often struggle to secure traditional funding sources. CU Phosco’s involvement in this year’s trial highlights the company’s commitment not only to innovation and quality in lighting but also to making a positive impact on the local community.
“We see this as an opportunity to showcase our high-quality lighting equipment while also contributing to an event that brings people together and raises money for worthy causes,” added Gaskell. “It’s exciting to be part of something that reflects the spirit and resilience of North Yorkshire.”
With over 100 years in the lighting industry, CU Phosco is a trusted name in high mast lighting, installations, and maintenance, providing essential services across the UK and internationally. The company’s Richmond-based services division, staffed by a team of 20 multi-disciplined engineers and technicians, and will be supporting the preparation for the event.
