Education inspectors awarded Brandon Primary Academy ‘Good’ rating across the board, in Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management, and Early Years Provision.

“I’m incredibly proud of our children, our staff, and our wider community. They’ve all played an invaluable role in achieving this result.

“This report reflects the importance of our school values, the dedication of our staff, and the ambitious education offer that we give our children.”

Katie McGough, Head of School

This was the school’s first inspection since it converted to an academy and joined the Advance Learning Partnership education trust in 2022.

Inspectors praised the strong sense of community, writing:

“Pupils are proud to attend Brandon Primary Academy. They benefit from the nurturing and ambitious environment. The school’s ‘Brandon Promise’ helps to remind pupils of the school values.”

The report also commended the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision, saying:

“Pupils with SEND achieve well. The school’s curriculum helps them to be successful in lessons and tailored interventions are led by highly-trained staff.”

It further recognised the role played by the school’s staff, noting:

“Staff at all levels share the values and vision of the trust, and benefit from the high-quality professional development provided by the trust. Staff feel valued, and their workload is managed carefully.”

Mrs McGough said:

“We’re incredibly proud of the report. It rightly recognises the impact made by our changes to our curriculum, as well as the skill and ambition of our staff.

“We are committed to providing the best possible environment for our children. Everything we do is about helping them to believe in themselves, achieve, succeed, and be inspired – and at the same time, they inspire us.”
