Durham OnAir has announced it is adding a brand new punk program to its schedule.
The brand new local radio station for County Durham, UK, which launched in November 2020, has become a firm favourite with alternative music fans, with its eclectic mix of specialised programming. The station features alternative music on Sunday evenings, as well as programming dedicated to Soul, Jazz and Americana throughout the week.
The Punk Corner will be presented by Fox, a punk music fan, presenter and live events Stage Manager, originally from Vermont. She relocated to the UK 15 years ago and has been working in live Stage Management ever since. Fox has toured both the UK and USA, stage-managing live events in some of the world’s biggest venues.
Fox said: “Since our live venues have been dark due to COVID-19, the world has been missing live entertainment in all of its forms. Many colleagues have had to move into other lines of work, and we all feeling the effects of not having live music in our lives.”
“I’m super excited to be bringing my love of punk to the airwaves, and hope listeners in the North East of England and beyond will join me to discover punk old and new. Whether you have been into Punk for decades, or don’t know where to start, we’ll have something for Everyone.”
The Punk Corner with Fox premieres Wednesday 17th February at 11pm UK Time, and is repeated Sundays at 11pm. It will also be available on-demand via Mixcloud at www.durhamonair.com
