Anyone fond of loud guitars, spiky hair and perhaps a safety pin or two should have a great time in County Durham this May bank holiday.

On Sunday 5th May 2019, Newton Aycliffe will play host to the Alternative Aycliffe Punk All Dayer.

This event will take place in The Turbinia public house in Sid Chaplin Drive, Newton Aycliffe, DL5 7PA. From 1.00 pm to 11.00 pm, The Turbinia is guaranteed to be rocking to the rowdy noise of some of the best punk bands in Britain.

Local bands Boilermaker, Amazing Space-frogs, All Out Attack, MC16, Numskulls and Snide Remarks will all be playing.

Manchester-based band Dead Objectives – who are also due to play the famous punk festival Rebellion this year – will be putting in an appearance as will Derby outfit The Lengthmen.

As well as the live bands, the Alternative Aycliffe Punk All Dayer will keep the music coming thanks to DJs Gary Avery and Alby Denham (Gaz ‘n’ Alby), who will be pumping out plenty of punk tracks from the decks.

If you can’t make it along to The Turbinia, the event will be broadcast live on Aycliffe Radio.

To get a taste of how the punk all dayer might sound, you can tune into Gaz ‘n’ Alby’s show Alternative Aycliffe on Aycliffe Radio every Wednesday night from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.

You can access the show via the Aycliffe Radio app, smart speaker, website (https://www.ayclifferadio.co.uk/)  or any wifi-enabled device.

Tickets for the Alternative Aycliffe Punk All Dayer are priced at a very reasonable £6.00. You can purchase tickets direct from The Turbinia, by ringing Gaz on 07952 244 404 or from the reception of Newton Press.
