The pantomime at Durham’s Gala Theatre this year is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – and, with tickets selling fast, families are advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

In the Gala’s take on this classic tale, evil has come to Fairyhill. The wicked Rupert Von Rottenchops (Neil Armstrong) reigns over the land, with the assistance of his henchman Corporal Crosby (Pip Chamberlin).

But things get even worse, as Rupert hatches a dastardly plan to blow the town to smithereens and run off with the residents’ money.

Fairyhill can only be saved by Snow White (Lauren Waine), with help from Chester the Jester (Paul Hartley) and their mam Dame Dolly Doodle (Paul Dunn).

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will run from Thursday 22nd November till Saturday 5th January.

Sarah Boulter, who plays Miranda the Mirror in the show, said, “I had such an amazing time performing in Jack and the Beanstalk back in 2016. The staff at the Gala are so lovely and there’s no better way to spend the festive period than doing what you love, surrounded by a great team.”

“It’s so wonderful to see the joy on the faces of children and grown-ups alike in the audience.”

Actors Neil Armstrong and Paul Hartley have written and directed the pantos at the Gala for the last four years.

Sarah continued, “I love working with Neil and Paul. It’s so much fun and a real pleasure to be sharing a stage with them again.”

“I’m thrilled to be part of such a fantastic cast and I really can’t wait to get into rehearsals.”

“I’m so excited to play Miranda the Mirror as she’s quite different to characters I’ve played before, but I think she’s going to be a lot of fun. I imagine there will be a lot of glitter involved.”

The service manager at the Gala Theatre, Robin Byers, said, “We’re really looking forward to this year’s Gala Theatre pantomime.”

“Once again we have an absolutely fantastic cast that audiences know and love.”

“Tickets are selling really well so if you want to be sure to get the seats you want, you need to get booking now.”

Tickets are priced from £6.00 to £17.00, with family tickets also available. To book tickets, please go to www.galadurham.co.uk or telephone 03000 266 600.
