Dean Midas’ ‘The Review’ Gets Haunting Endorsement from Scream Icon

He may be the iconic voice of one of the most famous horror characters of all time, but this week Roger L Jackson AKA Ghostface took time out of his busy schedule to review a low-budget horror short from County Durham.

The Review is a brand-new supernatural horror short by award-winning film director Dean Midas from Willington. The plot centers around two young vloggers, reviewing their stay in a County Durham treehouse for their subscribers. Young actress Eleanor Cater is ‘Jamie’, the camera operator, with ‘Ethan’, played by Zackri, the main subject of the film. It also features young actress, Flic Gibbon.

Roger L Jackson said of The Review

“Two severed thumbs up, another screamer from Dean Midas, it crawls into your head and starts to eat!”

Mr Midas said,

“Ghostface and the Scream franchise is one of the reasons that I got into filmmaking. For Roger to take the time to watch my film is mind-blowing. I can’t thank him enough”

Dean also advised that Mr. Jackson gave him valuable feedback for future films. 

“Roger has given me a few ideas to use in the next film, again, how surreal, the king of screams helping me”

There is a huge buzz around the horror short with one blogger calling it ‘Scary as hell” and another saying “A must watch for all horror fans.

For this film, Dean has also called upon his good friend, Duncan Thomsen who is a multi-award-winning short film director and Emmy-winning editor.  He is also the most published UK AI artist globally. His AI campaign went viral in January making the Jimmy Fallon show in America. 

Dean said,

“I can’t give anything away, but Duncan’s VFX is a game changer for me and it helps push the scare meter up to a hundred”

The fantastic Sam Haynes also returns and provides the haunting end theme to The Review. 

Mr Midas, from Willington, is a low budget filmmaker who shoots all of his movies on a mobile phone. His films have been watched around the world and the interest in his work continues to grow and grow. 

The Review is available to watch via Dean Midas Films on YouTube from April 25th.
