Members of Bannatyne Health Club Durham have been making use of a major upgrade to the gym’s fitness facilities, which was completed earlier this year.
The Eden Terrace club introduced new cardio equipment, strength-training stations and a dedicated functional workout area as part of the Bannatyne Group’s wider investment programme across its UK estate.

The improvements included a refresh of the gym’s cardiovascular equipment, providing members with updated machines offering improved comfort, performance tracking and training options.
A new functional training area was also created around a specialist rig featuring Hyrox targets and a range of attachments. The space supports strength, conditioning and high-intensity workouts for people of different fitness levels.
Additional equipment included two dual cable stations, two half racks and a built-in Smith machine, allowing members to combine guided resistance exercises with free-weight training.
The club also installed new functional flooring, two inset lifting platforms and a full set of collarless barbells.
A new turf track and sled introduced further options for exercises such as sled pushes and pulls, while a Renegade Airbike and two Concept2 SkiErgs added more high-intensity, low-impact cardio choices.
Duncan Bannatyne, chief executive and chairman of the Bannatyne Group, said the investment demonstrated the company’s continued commitment to the Durham club and its members.
He said: “The combination of upgraded cardio equipment and new functional training facilities creates a modern and versatile workout environment for all abilities.
“We continue to invest significantly across our clubs to ensure members have access to the very best facilities and equipment in the health and fitness sector.”
