CDS Security & Fire opens doors for students from Belmont Community School and North Durham Academy.

Two students from Durham secondary schools have completed hands-on work placements with CDS Security & Fire, as the company continues to invest in the next generation of local talent.

The students, from Belmont Community School and North Durham Academy, spent a week gaining insight into the day-to-day workings of the County Durham-based firm, which specialises in integrated security and fire protection systems.

The experience included shadowing field engineers, observing installations, and learning how office operations are managed behind the scenes.

The placements were organised as part of the company’s wider community outreach programme, which regularly partners with local schools to offer career support and workplace access.

With growing interest in vocational routes and trades, the initiative is seen as a practical way of bridging the gap between education and employment.
