The popularity of Durham City has increased significantly with the interest of the historic, famous Norman cathedral. Many tourists are instantly attracted to the cathedral itself with its stunning architecture and breath-taking views of Durham river.

The stars of the magical franchise were back in 2002 shooting parts of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004.

They used the wonderful cathedral was used for various interior and exterior shots of Hogwarts.
