Dog lovers across County Durham are being invited to a fantastic afternoon of four-legged fun as K9 Freedom Fields host their Fun Dog Show on Sunday 13th September 2026.
Taking place at K9 Freedom Fields in Coxhoe, the event promises an afternoon packed with wagging tails, colourful rosettes and plenty of friendly competition — all while raising vital funds for Greyhounds Going Home, a charity helping greyhounds find loving new homes.
The show is open to dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds, so whether you have a glamorous greyhound, a gorgeous rescue, a cheeky puppy or a magnificent mixed breed, there is a class to suit.
Something for Every Dog
There are 13 classes to enter, including Best Condition Greyhound, Gorgeous Greyhound Girl, Most Handsome Greyhound Dog and Best Black Greyhound.
Other categories include Best Adopted/Rescue, Golden Oldie for dogs over seven, Best Puppy, Young Handler for children aged 14 and under, and the wonderfully fun Dog the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home.
And for those who really want to make an entrance, there is even a K9 Fancy Dress class!
Each class costs just £2 to enter, making it an affordable way for families to get involved while supporting a great cause.
The competition doesn’t stop there. The winners of selected classes will go head-to-head for the coveted Best in Show Greyhound and Best in Show Other Breeds titles.
Calling All Stallholders and Local Businesses!
The fun isn’t just for the dogs. Local makers, bakers, crafters, pet businesses and food vendors are being invited to join the event and showcase their products to a passionate community of local dog lovers.
Best of all, there is no stall pitch fee.
Instead, stallholders are simply asked to make a donation to Greyhounds Going Home in lieu of the usual pitch fee.
Whether you sell handmade dog accessories, tasty treats, crafts, gifts or refreshments, this is a fantastic opportunity to get your business in front of local families while supporting a brilliant cause.
Stall spaces are limited, so anyone interested in pitching a stall is encouraged to get in touch with K9 Freedom Fields by direct message to reserve their place.
A Great Day Out for a Great Cause
With plenty of opportunities to cheer on the competitors, browse local stalls and soak up the atmosphere, the event is set to be a wonderful family-friendly afternoon celebrating our canine companions.
