The site manager in charge at Bellway’s Hedworths Green at Lambton Park development, near Chester-le-Street, has been recognised for his commitment to excellence by the National House Building Council.
Anthony Church, from Newton Aycliffe, has received a coveted Seal of Excellence in the NHBC’s 2026 Pride in the Job Awards. This is his second year receiving the accolade for his work at Hedworths Green.
Anthony said:
“I’m incredibly proud to have secured the Seal of Excellence for the second year running. It’s thanks to the hard work of the entire site team, and I’m grateful for their commitment and dedication in maintaining such high standards. A site with this level of detail is always a challenge to execute and get it right first time, and the full site team stepped up to the plate.”
Now in their 45th year, the Pride in the Job awards are among the most prestigious in the housebuilding industry. Judging is a rigorous process which encompasses every aspect of a site manager’s responsibilities, including consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
The North East regional awards ceremony took place on Friday 18 September at Royal Armouries New Dock Hall in Leeds.
Bellway Durham Head of Construction Dan Ferguson said:
“Success in the Pride in the Job awards is part of Bellway’s strategic focus on quality. We are extremely proud of Anthony and his team, who have been recognised for their unwavering commitment to achieving the highest standards in construction. Their hard work has been rewarded at the highest levels and it’s incredibly well-deserved.”
