Finance Durham Fund Manager Announces Virtual Funding Clinics Across Durham
Michael Dickens

Maven Capital Partners, Fund Manager for Finance Durham, has announced a series of 1-2-1 virtual funding clinics set to launch next month.

The support sessions will enable companies to identify the most suitable type of finance to meet their funding needs. Run by Maven’s local investment team, the clinics will support local businesses across County Durham.

Maven ensures the widest range of businesses can access, use and benefit from the clinics to improve their financial awareness and confidence, meaning more County Durham businesses are investor-ready. Each business will register for a time slot with the local investment team who will provide support tailored to their individual business and growth needs.

Working with over 20 local support partners and the regional advisory community, Maven can also connect and introduce businesses to knowledgeable sources of advice and assistance to help them achieve their growth plans.

Appointed by Durham County Council to manage the £20 million Finance Durham Fund, Maven is helping to transform the financial landscape for businesses across County Durham, providing debt and equity funding packages between £150,000 – £2 million to support business growth.

Many local businesses already benefitting from the Fund include science technology business, Plexus Innovation, industry-leading threat intelligence platform, Intelligence Fusion and the North East’s largest small-batch craft distillery, Durham Gin.

Michael Dickens, Investment Manager at Maven, said: “We understand the importance of proactively providing localised support, and our investment team is well-equipped to deliver 1-2-1 sessions tailored to the individual growth needs of businesses based across County Durham.

“We have been a key player in providing a range of funding and investment readiness opportunities since the Fund’s inception and we continue to reach out to businesses and help boost access to alternative finance. The Fund’s positive impact on businesses in County Durham is already evident, fuelling the growth of ambitious companies across a wide range of industries, and supporting job creation across the region.”
