Former Royal Pastry Chef to Attend Charity’s Festive Luncheon at St Cuthbert’s Hospice

Colin Alderson, former Royal pastry chef to attend charity’s festive luncheon

St Cuthbert’s Hospice is hosting a brand-new event in its fundraising calendar, this Christmas.

The charity is inviting supporters to attend their luxurious lunch, with special guest speaker Colin Alderson, former pastry chef to the Royal Household, at Bowburn Hall Hotel on Friday 9th December 2022.

Guests will be welcomed with a glass of something sparkling, choosing from Prosecco or a bespoke Christmas cocktail, before browsing the charity’s shopping stalls and making their way to the Hotel’s Ballroom Restaurant for a delicious dining experience.

Following a festive three-course meal, special guest speaker Colin Alderson will share fond memories of happy times working in the Royal Household at Christmas.

Jade McArdle, Community and Events Manager at St Cuthbert’s Hospice:

“We are delighted to be introducing this new event to our fundraising calendar, which promises to add a little sparkle to the festive season and give you a chance to catch up with friends before the festivities are in full swing!”

“Colin Alderson, former pastry chef to the Royal Household, dazzled our audience at our last Ladies Lunch in the Spring and ran out of time to tell us all about Christmas! We are so excited to be able to invite him back to the North East to tell us more about his time with the Royals. Colin has also very kindly shared one of his favourite recipes from the Royal Kitchen in our brand new Hospice Cookbook, which will be on sale at the event or can be picked up online now for anyone who can’t wait. It will make the perfect Christmas gift for anyone who loves to cook as well as a nice way to support St Cuthbert’s!”

Colin will also be making and donating one of his favourite cake recipes to be included in the event’s raffle, with all funds raised from the day helping St Cuthbert’s Hospice to continue to provide free care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses, people approaching the end of life and people that are bereaved.

To book tickets, contact the Community and Events Team on 0191 386 1170 option 5 or email [email protected] or visit the Hospice’s website
