Specsavers Peterlee Hosts Contact Lens Awareness Day for Health Week
Peterlee Contact Lens Awareness Day 1

A Peterlee opticians has been raising awareness of contact lens availability and safety as part of Contact Lens Health Week (18–22 August).

Specsavers Peterlee hosted a Contact Lens Awareness Day, giving customers the chance to learn about different types of lenses, the benefits of wearing them, and how to use them safely through live demonstrations.

Colleagues also handed out leaflets and goody bags, and held a competition to guess how many contact lenses were in a jar and a spin the wheel game, too.

The store, based in the Castle Dene Shopping Centre, is locally owned and run by the director team of Mark Huddart and Joanne Gallagher, and specialises in hearing care as well as eye health.

‘It was important for us to mark Contact Lens Health Week with this special event, which we felt was informative and useful to our customer base.

‘Both existing and prospective contact lens customers were able to gain a better understanding of our offering as a store.

‘At Specsavers Peterlee, there is no one size fits all approach when it comes to eye health, and we will always strive to find the best solution for each individual.’

Joanne Gallagher, retail director at Specsavers Peterlee
