A forthcoming Popeyes® drive-thru establishment is poised to arrive in Bishop Auckland this Spring.
Popeyes® UK has officially disclosed the introduction of a new restaurant in Bishop Auckland on this present Monday, the 22nd of January, marking the inauguration of its inaugural drive-thru in the North East.
Following the success of its Metrocentre restaurant, which opened its doors in August 2022, Popeyes® continues to expand its North East presence with the opening of its Bishop Auckland drive-thru, located within the new Fieldon Bridge Retail & Leisure Park development.
The new restaurant will be the brand’s 5th opening in 2024 and 41st opening since landing in the UK in November 2021.
2024 is set to be another big year for Popeyes® as it continues its nationwide rollout with 30 new locations, including London Waterloo Station, Exeter and Aberdeen, throughout the year.
The Metrocentre opening was the first opening outside of the South East for the brand in August 2022 and set a record for the brand in the UK at that time, with avid fans queueing from 2am on opening day to be the first to try the famed Chicken Sandwich.
Chicken fans in Bishop Auckland will be able to experience Popeyes® world-famous shatter crunch for themselves once they get their hands on the New Orleans-inspired menu, including its signature 12-hour marinated chicken, and original Southern biscuits and gravy. Other popular items include Signature Louisiana Chicken, Chicken Tenders, Hot Wings and Cajun fries.
Popeyes® will also be serving its breakfast menu at the new Bishop Auckland restaurant including the Big Breakfast Roll (a sausage patty, egg, streaky bacon, and American cheese in a soft bun), a variety of sausage, bacon, egg and cheese muffins, Cajun hash browns, and its famous Louisiana buttermilk biscuits served with cinnamon sugar or Nutella®.
The new restaurant will be located in Fieldon Bridge Retail Park & Leisure Park. Plans include both indoor and outdoor seating, a car park for customers who would like to eat inside the 50-seat restaurant, and kerbside pick up bays for customers who would like to order online for collection.
