A short horror film made for just £200 has reached its 20K target on Halloween and is now set for a sequel.

The Devil’s Stone was made entirely on mobile phones and recently came 2nd in an American online film festival, just 11 days after coming out.

The film features an A-list cast, including American actor Roger L Jackson who is the voice of Ghostface in the Scream franchise and provides the chilling voiceover at the start of The Devil’s Stone.

Ellie Darcey-Alden, who played Lily Potter in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 and Franny in a Doctor Who Christmas special, and Dick Warlock, who played Michael Myers in Halloween 2, also feature in The Devil’s Stone.

Dean said, “I’m absolutely blown away and so proud of what we have all achieved. Huge thanks to the whole cast & crew for all their hard work. Priceless thanks must also go to the media, everyone who has watched and shared the film and venues The Park Head Hotel, The Witham & Blue Stone Tea Shop”

Mr Midas continued, “I promised the cast and crew that if we hit the Halloween target, I would write a sequel. I will have a few weeks off, then script writing will start on The Devil’s Stone 2”

The Devil’s Stone is the central feature of the landscaped area outside the council offices in the centre of Crook. It is thought to be over 10,000 years old and called the Devil’s Stone because it is said if you run seven times around it, the devil himself will appear.
