Durham’s independent retailers are joining the national Totally Locally Fiver Fest, and inviting shoppers to enjoy special offers for two weeks from this coming Saturday, 12th June.
The fifth National Totally Locally Fiver Fest will see independent businesses across the country promoting special offers to customers, encouraging them back to their high street and into small local businesses. In Durham, the participating independent businesses will be promoting their own offers on social media and the Totally Locally Durham website, www.totallylocallydurham.co.uk.
Colin Wilkes, Managing Director of Durham Markets Company, which first introduced the Totally Locally concept to Durham, said: “Everyone knows how businesses have been hit in the last 15 months, but do they know that by spending a bit more money each week with local independents, they’re making a huge difference to our local economy.
“By creating these special offers for the Totally Locally Fiver Fest, our independents in Durham are saying welcome back, we’re here to provide you with great service, at great prices. Wherever you see the Totally Locally Fiver Fest posters, we want people to come in and chat to the staff and ask what the special offer is. By putting our money into local independent businesses, we’ll be helping Durham recover from the pandemic, and we all want to see that happen!”
The Fiver Fest initiative is supported by Totally Locally Durham, Durham BID, Durham Parish Council, Indie Durham City and Durham Markets Company.
