Upon the announcement by the Office for National Statistics that the North East has the best jobs figures in the country, Richard Holden MP said:

“Getting more people into work is my top priority. The national figures today, announcing record numbers of people in work is brilliant news. However, what is most encouraging is that the North East had the best figures of anywhere in the country.

“Ever since I have been elected, I have done all I can to boost good local jobs, from hosting multiple apprenticeships and jobs fairs to supporting those helping people into work. Thanks to everyone who has helped me with this locally, which has more than held up North West Durham‘s end of these stats. It is great to see hard work paying off directly resulting in more money in hardworking local peoples’ pockets.

“Good jobs create more jobs, entailing wide ranging benefits for people across our towns and villages. Now we have Conservatives who put peoples’ interests first and get on with the job, rather than taking our area for granted, I can’t wait to see the momentum continue and for more fantastic news in our area.”
