We caught up with award-winning local film-maker, Dean Midas from Durham to find out his next short film.

Q: Dean, can you please let us know about your new film project?

Dean: My new short film is called The Devil’s Stone, it will launch my new horror character, Sayer Hicks.

Q: Is the Devil’s Stone real? if so, where is it?

Dean: Oh yes, it is very real. The Devil’s Stone is the central feature of the landscaped area outside the council offices in the centre of Crook. It is called the Devil’s Stone because it is said if you run seven times around it, the devil himself will appear.

Q: Has production started and when will it be released?

Dean: We started production a few weeks ago, at The Witham in the beautiful town of Barnard Castle. I am hoping to have filming complete by early August, ahead of it’s release on Friday 13th October.

Q: You have had great success with your other characters, The Rag Dolly and Eve Valentine, so why the Devil’s Stone.

Dean: The Rag Dolly and Eve Valentine have changed my life and I will be eternally grateful, but I have always wanted to do a film about the stone and now is the right time to launch a new franchise.
